Photo Editing, Restoration, & Enhancement

This section focuses on photo retouching, editing, and restoration. I refine images to look natural and polished while still preserving their original character. I also restore older or damaged photographs, carefully bringing them back to improved condition. I enjoy working in a way that is patient and detail-focused, paying close attention to subtle tones, texture, and balance so the final image feels both clean and authentic. Separately, I explore more creative image work through painterly effects and compositing, using masking and layered techniques to build expressive, visually dynamic pieces.

PHOTO RESTORATION

Restored a water-damaged black-and-white photograph, bringing it back to life through AI-assisted colorization and detailed hand retouching in Photoshop. Damaged areas and facial details were carefully rebuilt by hand to preserve authenticity. Generative AI was selectively used to reconstruct the subject’s gown, then further refined manually to maintain visual consistency.

PHOTO RETOUCHING

In this photograph, I carefully retouched the model’s face and hair, removing imperfections like scars and discolorations and gray hairs using healing brushes and the clone tool. My focus was on enhancing the image while keeping a natural, authentic look that highlights the model’s features.

HORIZON REIMAGINED: PAINTED PHOTOGRAPH INSPIRED BY WILL MARTYR

This piece began as a photograph taken on a beach during a vacation. Later, I reinterpreted it through digital painting in a style reminiscent of contemporary British artist Will Martyr’s vibrant utopian landscape style of art, exploring light, color, and atmosphere through my own artistic lens.

DIGITAL BRUSHWORK

Studio photograph captured under green lighting, enhanced using hand-applied painterly techniques with mixing brushes to create a soft, painting-like composition.

THEN AND NOW: THE LYLES STATION MUSEUM

In this piece, I merged an old and a modern photograph of the Lyles Station Museum into one cohesive postcard image. Through masking, cloning, and detailed brushwork, I blended the two moments in time to create a seamless connection between past and present.

MULTIPLICITY

A playful “one-person pit stop,” I combined five different poses of myself around the car—pointing, waving, and watching—to create a fun, energetic portrait. Using careful blending and masking, I turned multiple shots into a single, dynamic scene full of movement and personality.
